About me

Hi, I'm Dawn.

I'm a licensed clinical social worker, and I've been doing this work for over 16 years. I’ve also been doing life long enough to have experiences that textbooks can’t teach about or prepare you for.

My ideal client is someone who's genuinely ready to dig in — to ask "why do I keep doing this?" and actually sit with the answer, even when it's uncomfortable (I promise you, it will be). I will ask hard questions, gently push when it's useful, and celebrate the small wins along the way. But, to be clear, I will not be doing the work for you.

I work best with adults and older adults navigating depression, anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, and the kind of life transitions that knock you sideways, even when you saw them coming.

I'm down-to-earth, I laugh easily (often at myself), and I don't pretend to have it all together. I think that honesty matters more than perfection — mine included. I draw from CBT, DBT, and a handful of other approaches, but I tailor things to what actually works for you rather than sticking to one playbook. I also don’t use a lot of clinical jargon because one, I’m not all that great at it and two, I’m more interested in how things are impacting you than what something is called.

Not sure? I offer a free 15-minute consultation, so you can get a feel for whether we click before committing to anything.
